Sly Toran started doing drywall in 1992 out of Gervais, and incorporated Sly's Drywall Company in 1996. He was 19, working with a couple of guys on small jobs around the valley. The break came when custom home builders gave him a shot, and the standard got set early: hand trowel finishes, level 5 work, no shortcuts.
Years later, Sly's brought that same custom-home quality to multi-family. General contractors started asking for the crew by name because the punch lists were shorter and the units showed better. Thirty-plus years in, the company still runs the same way.
Sly's son Sevy runs most of the day-to-day now, working alongside guys who've been on the crew since the early days.
